Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)
At Argos Storage Terminal, ensuring the health, safety, security, and environmental sustainability of our operations is a core organizational priority. Our commitment is embedded in every level of our operations and reflected in our corporate policies, management systems, and daily practices.
Our Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Policy reinforces our unwavering dedication to preventing accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses, while actively minimizing our environmental impact. We strive for continuous improvement across all business units by advancing technical safeguards, strengthening organizational structures, and fostering a proactive, safety-first culture.
The Corporate HSSE Department plays a central role in shaping the strategic direction of our safety and environmental initiatives. It is responsible for developing comprehensive guidelines and establishing baseline standards that are consistently applied across all subsidiaries. We set measurable performance objectives, regularly benchmark our progress, and use these insights to drive ongoing improvement.
A cornerstone of our approach is the development of detailed HSSE manuals, tailored to the operational requirements of each site. These manuals serve as the foundation for site-specific management systems, ensuring that each location can effectively implement best practices while addressing unique operational challenges.
To promote a culture of learning and accountability, we maintain a centralized global incident database. This platform captures and analyzes all incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and at-risk behaviors. Where appropriate, HSSE alerts are issued, distributed across relevant sites, and used as the basis for workforce discussions and preventive action planning.
Regular internal HSSE audits are conducted to assess compliance with corporate standards, identify areas for improvement, and validate the effectiveness of local implementation. Our performance is evaluated using a balanced set of key performance indicators (KPIs)—including both leading (proactive) and lagging (reactive) metrics—to provide a comprehensive view of our HSSE performance.
Fundamental to our success is a well-informed and engaged workforce. We provide mandatory HSSE training and orientation for all employees, contractors, and visitors prior to commencing work or site entry. This ensures full awareness of our safety protocols, risk controls, and environmental responsibilities.
Through these integrated efforts, Argos Storage Terminal remains committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, secure, and environmentally responsible workplace—for our employees, our partners, and the communities in which we operate.
